Yours alone

It runs on your machine.
Nothing leaves it.

No cloud brain, no account, no data harvested. Bithaus talks to a local model and manages your Mac , processes, disk, memory, scheduled jobs , entirely on-device. The intelligence is yours to keep.

Private by design

Everything happens locally. Your files, your chats, your machine , they never touch a server.

A real assistant

Ask it to clean disk, kill a runaway process, summarize your inbox, or just chat. It acts, then reports.

Wears any world

Six hand-crafted skins, each with its own pixel companion, palette, and day-night sky.

Under the hood

How it actually works.

No magic, just a clean loop. A brain, a pair of hands, and a memory , all on your machine. And one switch that turns the whole thing up.

1

A free brain, on-device

Bithaus thinks with a local model through Ollama. Everyday chat, questions, and machine work cost nothing, stay private, and run offline. That is the default, forever.

2

Hands, not just words

The companion reads your Mac , CPU, memory, disk, processes, scheduled jobs , and acts on it once you arm write access. Every action comes back as a plain-English report, destructive ones ask first, and deletes go to the Trash.

3

A memory that compounds

Point it at a free Obsidian vault and it keeps notes , what it learned, what you like, your machine's quirks. Plain Markdown you can open anytime. It gets sharper the longer you keep it.

Max Mode

The real max happens here.

Attach your own Claude plan in Settings and the companion swaps its everyday brain for Anthropic's Fable 5 running at max effort, the deepest reasoning setting it has. Long multi-step jobs, gnarly cron pipelines, real research, code that actually ships. Local stays your free default. Max Mode is the overdrive pedal.

Local · free · always on ✦ Max Mode · Fable 5 · max effort

One toggle. Your plan, never ours , the key lives on your Mac like everything else. Flip it off and you are back to free and local.

Proactive by nature

Two claps. Your whole day.

When you sit down at your Mac in the morning, the companion is already up, day loaded. Clap twice, and your companion speaks , the weather, the news that matters to you, and everything on your calendar, in a voice you picked.

MORNING BRIEFING · 7:42 AM Voice: Kō

Good morning, I heard the claps. It is 4°C and clear, warming to 12 by noon, no rain in sight today. Three stories worth your coffee: chips are up, your city is fixing that bridge, and the game went to overtime. Calendar: standup at 9:30, dentist at 2, dinner with Sam at 7. Your Mac slept well, 212 GB free. Go get the day.

that is the whole interface

Senses your morning

When you arrive in the morning, the companion is already up , a quiet greeting first, the full briefing on request. It knows a weekday 7 AM from a midnight snack check.

Two claps, full report

Clap twice within earshot of your Mac and it speaks your day , weather, headlines picked for your interests, and your calendar. Hands full of coffee? It does not mind.

A voice you choose

It speaks in a voice you choose and you can dictate back through your browser. Swap voices whenever the mood changes , or mute it and keep everything on screen.

It speaks first

Proactive by default: the morning brief, the nightly tidy report, a warning when something is eating your machine , your companion mentions it before you thought to ask. Quiet nudges, never a firehose.

Save it for a later prompt

Mid-chat idea worth keeping? Say "save that to my notes" and it lands in Apple Notes, titled and tidy, ready to become tomorrow's prompt. macOS asks permission once, then it is instant.

Listening is a toggle, off until you arm it, and claps are detected on-device in the app window , the audio is analyzed in the moment and discarded, never recorded or stored. The briefing's only outbound traffic is a plain request for public weather and headlines.

Creative freedom

Yours to extend.
Seriously, go further.

Bithaus is local code on your machine, not a sealed box. When you outgrow the defaults, open it up , the companion learns whatever you teach it.

Teach it new tools

The companion's hands are plain local tools in readable code. Wire in your own , a scraper, a deploy script, a render pipeline , and the companion puts them to work in chat.

Connect your OpenClaw fleet

Run OpenClaw agents? Bithaus speaks the same language , wire your fleet in and the companion becomes mission control, handing off work and reading the reports back in one chat.

Automate the boring parts

A full cron manager lives in the app , "tidy downloads every night at 2", "back up the vault at 2:30". Set it once, then let the companion mind the shop.

Tinkering is optional. Out of the box it stays simple , the hooks are there when you want them.

Questions, answered

Everything a buyer asks.

Is my data actually private?

Yes. Bithaus talks to a local model on your Mac , no cloud round-trip, no account, nothing about you leaves the device. The only traffic that ever goes out is a plain request for public weather and headlines in the morning briefing, and only if you turn it on. Max Mode is the sole exception, and only if you choose to attach your own Claude plan.

Do I need to know how to code?

No. You talk to your companion in plain English , "clean up my disk", "what's eating my battery", "how's my money". It does the work and reports back. The power-user hooks are there if you want them, invisible if you do not.

Is this a subscription?

No. Pay $39 once and it is yours, with a year of updates included. The everyday local brain is free forever. There is no recurring charge, ever.

What do I need to run it?

A Mac on a recent macOS. The free on-device brain runs through Ollama (a free install), and Bithaus can reach it out of the box. Everything is walked through in the 15-minute setup guide.

What is Max Mode?

Your free local model handles everyday work. When you want the deepest reasoning for a big multi-step job, Max Mode swaps in Anthropic's Fable 5 at max effort , using your own Claude plan, with the key stored on your Mac. One toggle, off by default, back to free and local whenever you like.

What is MoneyHaus?

An optional $89 add-on that turns Bithaus into a private money command center , stocks, crypto, Polymarket, and Stripe in one on-device dashboard, plus three exclusive companion worlds and a hidden fourth. Watch your money, or let it trade , paper mode until you flip it live, keys on your Mac. See MoneyHaus.

Can I try it before I buy?

Yes. The live demo and all six worlds on this site run the real app's engine, so you see exactly what you are getting before you pay. Bithaus is a one-time purchase you keep, with a year of updates. Because it is a downloadable app, all sales are final.
